GRMC Announces DAISY Awards for First Quarter

GRMC staff nurses Chelsey Dixon, Bernita Collett, and Sonia Ashley have recently been named DAISY award recipients.

January’s winner, Chelsey Dixon, RN, MICU, was nominated for the DAISY award from a patient’s family member who wrote, “My Mom was in MICU for over a week. Chelsey made the experience so pleasant as such a stay can be. She made Mom feel loved and respected. Chelsey was exceptional—near angelic.”

Bernita Collett, RN, MICU, was recognized by the sister of a patient for her compassion, kindness, respect, being calm under pressure, detail-oriented, knowledgeable and talking to us about our sister’s care. “Bernita was so kind, not only to me, but all of our family members and friends.”

Sonia Ashley, RN, Women’s & Children’s, was honored for being the March DAISY winner. One of Sonia’s patients nominated her for being so kind, sweet, and understanding and “being the same person at the beginning of her shift as she is at the end.”
