Gadsden Regional Medical Center Hosts Jars Of Love Peanut Butter Drive To Fight Hunger
2/26/2024
Gadsden, AL (February, 26, 2024) – Gadsden Regional Medical Center invites community members to join the hospital’s efforts to fight hunger by participating in the second annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive benefiting the Etowah Community Food Bank. Peanut butter is a sought after item for food banks because of its high nutritional value and long shelf life. Yet, it is one of the least donated items. The Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive kicks off on March 4th and will run through March 25.
“We recognize the impact hunger has on an individual’s health and wellbeing, and we want to help those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity,” said Mark Dooley, FACHE, CEO, Gadsden Regional Medical Center. “An estimated 17% of adults and over 22% of children in Etowah County are facing food insecurity. Our Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive is a great way to partner with community members to reduce hunger in our area.”
Please bring donations to Will Mackey, Marketing Director, located in the offices behind the Gadsden Regional Conference Room. Donations may also be dropped off in the boxes located at the Cafeteria or Human Resources. Once the drive concludes on March 25th, all donations will be delivered to the Etowah County Food Bank and distributed throughout the county.
Please donate peanut butter in plastic - not glass - jars. For more information, contact Gadsden Regional’s Marketing Department at 256-494-4300.
