Gadsden, AL, January 27, 2025 - Gadsden Regional Medical Center now provides families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss with additional support after a recent donation of a CuddleCot system from Ashlie’s Embrace.
A CuddleCot gives parents the choice of having time with their baby after experiencing a stillbirth or neonatal loss. This system features a specially designed bassinet equipped with a quiet cooling unit, allowing parents more time to say goodbye.
“We are deeply grateful for the generous donation from Ashlie’s Embrace, which will be utilized in our labor & delivery unit at Gadsden Regional Medical Center,” said Traci Howard, CNO at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. “Our staff understands that providing compassionate care to grieving families during times of loss, whether anticipated or sudden, is vital. The gift of time can greatly aid families in navigating their grief during such an unimaginable experience.”
Nursing staff from the hospital's labor and delivery unit, along with administrators, came together to receive a donation from the organization that was established in 2016 by Erin and Anthony Maroon following the heartbreaking loss of their full-term daughter.
“A CuddleCot is more than just a piece of equipment—it's a precious gift of time for families facing the heartbreaking loss of a baby,” said Howard. “This system allows parents to preserve those cherished moments with their child after stillbirth or infant loss, enabling them to hold, bond, & say farewell on their own terms, without the pressure of time.”
