An intensive care nurse, orthopedics nursing director and head of security were named 2016 Employee of the Year and Managers of the Year, respectively, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Wil Mullins, BSN, was named the hospital’s 2016 Employee of the Year.
“I am humbled to reserve this recognition and I am proud to represent Gadsden Regional,” Mullins said.
Mullins, a charge nurse in the medical intensive care unit, was also honored earlier in 2016 as Employee of the Month.
“Wil is an excellent clinician,” a nomination for Mullins stated. “(He) always demonstrates kindness and compassion for his patients and their families.”
Mullins has been with GRMC since 2010. He and his wife, Emily, reside in Hokes Bluff.
Orthopedics Nursing Director Maria Adderhold, BSN, was selected as GRMC’s Clinical Manager of the Year for 2016.
Adderhold, who joined the GRMC staff in 2003, co-chairs the orthopedic hip and knee replacement team and was instrumental in the hospital attaining reaccreditation for joint hip and knee replacement surgery by the Joint Commission.
“Maria makes sure needs are met,” the nomination for Adderhold stated. From rounding on patients to staffing, Adderhold excels at getting the job done in her department.
“I feel lucky to work at a place where my coworkers are like my second family,” Adderhold said. “I work with an amazing group of people and it’s a joy to come to work every day.”
Adderhold and her husband, Heath, reside in Piedmont with their children.
Harper, the longest tenured of the trio, started his career with GRMC in 1981. Thirty-five years later, the security director was named Non-Clinical Manager of the Year.
Harper serves on the following committees: environment of care, employee safety, emergency preparedness and quality.
“Mark is truly selfless when it comes to helping people,” said Imaging Services Director Penny Carr. “He takes care of all of us.”
Harper resides in Hokes Bluff wife his wife, Janice.
