3rd Annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive Supporting Etowah Community Food Bank
2/26/2025
GADSDEN, AL – Next week, Gadsden Regional Medical Center kicks off its annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive benefitting the Etowah Community Food Bank and is inviting community members to participate in this effort to fight hunger in the local area. Peanut butter is a sought after item for food banks because of its high nutritional value and long shelf life. Yet, it is one of the least donated items. The Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive begins March 3rd and will run through March 24th.
“Gadsden Regional Medical Center not only supports the patients who come through our doors, we are also committed to supporting better health throughout our community,” said Cullen Summers, COO, Gadsden Regional Medical Center. “An estimated 17% of adults and over 22% of children in Etowah County are facing food insecurity, which has a profound impact on overall health and well-being. With the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive, we can help a vital community organization reduce hunger in our area.”
Donations may be dropped off to Gadsden Regional Medical Center in the boxes located at the Cafeteria or Human Resources. Once the drive concludes on March 24th, all donations will be picked up by the Etowah Community Food Bank and distributed throughout the county.
Please donate peanut butter in plastic - not glass - jars. For more information or to coordinate a donation pick up, contact Gadsden Regional’s Marketing Department at (256) 494-4300.
